A beautifully rendered graphic Mezzotint by Ryan Price, an Ontario artist whose focus has largely been dry point printmaking. He has ventured more recently into mixed media drawing, largely graphite on drywall panel. Price has won several awards for his work and is represented in Toronto by the Ingram gallery. Whimsical, thought provoking, evocative and beautiful, his detailed pieces invite contemplation. In viewing his work, we are reminded of a modern contemporary take on Grimm's fairy tales. There is a story at the forefront of each image, yet beyond, are layers that will be interpreted solely by the viewer. Do you get lost in the woods or is there light at the end of the tunnel?
