An exquisite 'pulled feather' art glass vase, circa 80's, by iconic glass artist Ron Held. The object speaks for itself. This is a collectors piece, it is for me reminiscent of both air and water, wings above and shells beneath.
Signed on the base. 'R.Held Studio. 7.5" h x 5" w.
Of note: 'Robert Held started his career as the head of ceramics at Sheridan. In 1968, he discovered glass blowing. He returned to Sheridan & launched Canada's first college level glass program in 1969. This program not only allowed many Canadian artists to learn this medium but it crowned Held as a pioneer of the industry.' Now located in B.C, he continues to produce iconic works.
