A beautiful Rare Double Handled Silver Polo Trophy in wonderful unpolished patina. The engraving reads 'Back River Polo Tournament. 14th-19th August 1911. Presented to Members of. Winners of the Grenfell Cup. The Black River Polo Club was founded in Cartierville Quebec in 1904, wonderful to find a pre WW1 Canadian polo trophy as the sport nearly vanished when players left for military service in 1914. Stamped on the base. Gilt 2000. Plated. Reed & Barton. Measures 8" h x 5" handle to handle.
