Circa 1800's antique cast iron no 3 scotch bowl. The patina on this is incredible & if you don't hang it over a fire & make some soup it would be gorgeous filled with fruit.
Scotch bowls came in various sizes. They were hung over a fire to cook Scottish scotch broth or soup; both dishes needed to be stirred regularly, thus the rounded bottom with no lid. Long gate mark, No 3 & possibly a Y with a mark on the base. Measures 10" W x 4" h.
