A beautiful antique sandstone carved tile depicting in it's central imagery, a phoenix with sun above. The phoenix perched on possibly a crown with scallop shell detail. The upper right and left feature small serpents or koi fish, it's sides and base carved with floral design. Beautiful detail and imagery. This would be wonderful mounted on a stand or secured within a floating frame.
Possible architectural remnant. Possibly Asian. Sandstone. Care needs to be taken as sandstone is very fine and the back and sides of this will leave dust from the stone on your hands. Light wear to carving. Measures 8 1/4" x 5.5" x 2."
