Antique Brown Glass Whisky Flask Bottle Great Fire of Toronto
An antique brown glass flask bottle with a great bit of Toronto history. It was
culled many years ago from a dump site in the Toronto beach area that was used for debris from Toronto's great fire of 1904. The fire destroyed more than 100 buildings and caused massive damage. It's a wonder that the bottle survived intact. Photographs of the aftermath are haunting.
The bottle needs a thorough clean out & may never sparkle like new again but the light coming through it when sitting on the sill is quite lovely & it's got a large dollop of old Toronto history behind it! We rather enjoy it's patina. It shouts history & longevity & perseverance and it's rather easy on the eyes!
