Rare & simply beautiful pair of antique Scottish polychrome pitchers, each decorated with birds & summer strawberry vines. Beautiful colours, exquisite & wonderful pattern.
Gorgeous for display, functional still & imagine these with wild summer blooms spilling out. To boot as noted, I have two available & cannot find another example of this pattern out there so seize the moment! One is aged to a great 'cafe latte' colouring, the other a creamier version. Dependant on how you like your ironstone, one or the other will call your name.
Both have the DM&S stamp (David Methvens & Sons | Methven's Pottery) The pattern is called 'Jay,' after the depiction of a Scottish jay bird with a slight enhancement of the natural birds colour. They measure 8" h x 6.5" spout to handle.
